Normally, Fae may have taken the opportunity to say something in between the breaths as Elly ramped up from a simple response that may have ended with Fae blushing sheepishly, biting her lower lip, maybe even leaning in to steal that kiss before Elly could land it. But instead, the half-elf just stared a bit dumbstruck at how quickly Elly went from saying something so bold to chastising herself for saying it at all. All while also explaining just how badly she would have enjoyed having their lips touch.Blue Jay wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2024 4:05 pm As Fae leaned back, Elly's eyes followed the curve of her body, coming to rest on Fae's chest until she realized Fae was looking back at her. That this was followed by Fae inching towards her on the bed and putting her hand against her face did not do anything to reduce how flustered she was.
"I was thinking about kissing you," Elly blurted out before her brain could catch up. She winced. "But obviously that's not a good idea. Not right now, I mean. It'd be fine if I wasn't sick—more than fine, I mean. It'd be lovely. For me at least. But I am sick. You might catch something."
Mercifully, Elly ran out of air and so had a chance to interrupt her babbling with a deep breath in and a forceful breath out through her nose. "And then I started thinking about what a fool I am, that I tried so hard to keep you from taking care of me. That I had to be this sick before I would let you."
'Bet they taste like cinnamon an'sugar right now too..' Fae thought, eyes zeroing in on Elly's lips for a moment and resisting the urge to both lick her lips and to lean in. In truth, she would love that kiss as well. But it wouldn't be right. Fae had known that from the start. She had known that since Elly was asleep in the errant moments where she thought about gently pressing a sweet little peck against the gnome's lips to let her know she was there. 'Momma'd twack me wit'th back a'th Anatomy a' Flesh an' Spirit.
So instead, she laughed. It wasn't at teasing laugh. Or judgemental in any way. Fae laughed because the situation was just funny, and sweet, and it made her genuinely smile enough that she could actually feel it in her cheeks and ears. She wiped a tear from her eye as she shook her head, "Lil'bird you really gotta way wit'charmin' a girl." she said, teasing just a little. She lifted the plate between them and moved it to her opposite side so that Fae could slide closer without having to worry that the left over cakes and assorted toppings would get between them. Instead of a kiss, she slid her hand down Elly's shoulder, along her arm to her hand and rested her own palm delicately against Elly's knuckle, "You ain't no fool though. Stubborn, sure. But jus'ya wait till next time I'm lyin' up in bed. I been told I can be a pretty bad patient.."
Her hand gently stroked Elly's hand, "Sides. If you'd let me do this earlier, we wouldn't be here now. An' I like now. Jus'like I liked hearin' y'talkin' in yer sleep an'learnin' how much y'like oatcakes.."
