Dr. Betua Argent (xe/xer) the Believer
Qualities: Awkward, eager, and gullible
Appearance: Holo-glasses, long hair that's always getting in the way, stimming habits that help xem focus
You hold out hope for another way, why do you still seek peace with the enemy?
The NCE was curious. It seemed to understand us. I'm not convinced it had to respond to the Corporation; rather, I think it wanted, perhaps needed something from our reality. If we knew what, maybe we could have resolved things differently...

Kyeera Hastur (she/her) the Captain
Qualities: Intoxicating, Mysterious and Inspiring
Appearance: Fashion of a bygone era, a cane I pretend is just for show, and black gloves that hide secrets.
You once had a heroic reputation, how did the enemy secretly help you gain it?
Kyeera was always ambitious, but did not always have the means to achieve her goals. It wasn't until strange whispers and ideas filled her head that her luck started to turn, and she was able to make her dreams into a reality. It wasn't until contact with the NCE that she started to understand where those whispers came from...

Xi’asz Séalgair (he/him) the Reformed
Qualities: Calculating, guilty, and pragmatic
Appearance: He has a musical voice, intimidating cybernetic implants, and carries a weapon that doesn’t work as intended.
You were once the enemy, what terrible secrets did you reveal when you betrayed your people.
I was once the enemy? Yeah, that’s because the NCE turned our own against us. The ones whose minds weren’t as strong, the ones who were gullible enough to believe whispers of a better place … the ones who naively welcomed me into their crew. Now the rest all know I’ll do the hard thing, the necessary thing. It’s what I have to do because nobody else will.

Tikreta/Tik (they/them) the Steadfast
Qualities: Affectionate, witty, tenacious
Appearance: All their aspects bear a yellow symbol in accordance with tradition, a weapon the captain gave me with love, a song I won’t sing for anyone else
What do you know about the enemy that you can never tell the Captain?
It was my people that created the Enemy, eons past. My people fed it the consciousnesses of their enemies. It was a weapon, not an enemy. Until its hunger turned on them. There are so few of us still free. It’s impossible to know, with the gate now closed, if I’m the only one left.
If I’m the only one left, will the Enemy be coming after me specifically?

Lavender "Lav" - The Broken
Qualities: Sardonic, Magnetic, and other-worldly
Arresting eyes, bold coloring that demands attention, and the soft chime of soothing bells
You had to do what no one else was willing to do, what did you destroy to hold back the enemy?
For their plan to work, someone had to draw attention. Someone had to keep the NCE from spreading its tendrils outward too far and seeing too much. Someone had to be the bait. At the time, Lav believed it was their choice. Believed it would simply be a matter of opening themself up, just a little, just enough so that it could get a taste while the crew - their friends - took on the more dangerous aspects of the job. That's what the Captain had said, with their honey words that convinced Lav it was their choice. They had no idea. No idea the emptiness they felt. The taking. The drowning sensation of inky black. The last thing they thought they heard was a scream, a cry, in the NCE? before Lav blinked. But what stares back at them in the mirror now feel so empty. Unfamiliar.
They are Lav, they think. Most days it is hard to tell.
