Re: Fae gets jealous

At first Blue Jay had intended to sweep up her things as quickly as possible and retreat to her room on the top floor, but once she got over the jolt of the kitchen door slamming closed, she decided she could take the time to be organized about it. Besides, she needed time to brood on what had just happened and try to figure out where she had gone wrong. Fae had wanted Bria gone, Blue Jay was sure about that, but for no reason she could discern. There wasn't any apparent emergency, no urgent message Fae needed to share that needed privacy. As soon as Bria had been out the door, Fae had acted as though nothing had happened.

Blue Jay slid another tankard back into place and sat on her haunches, absently rubbing the side of her face with a still-filthy hand. She had seemed awfully fixated on the cookie, now that I think about it. Could she be jealous of Bria's baking?

But that didn't make any sense either. Blue Jay shook her head, putting the last of the cleaning supplies back in their basket. They had been getting baked goods from Turin Bakery since they had moved into Trollskull. They all knew the baker there was phenomenal, and it hadn't bothered Fae a titch. Not until she had been face to face with her. Blue Jay groaned and put her face into her hands. If only Fae were willing to talk to her and tell her what was wrong. She'd thought they'd built up enough trust for that.

The sound of Blue Jay's skillet crackling seeped through the walls, which was at least a little comforting. Fae couldn't be that angry at her if she wasn't forswearing the use of her gift. Then the crackling turned to loud pops and there was a shriek from Fae and a thump and Blue Jay was on her feet and rushing to the kitchen door, skidding to a stop right in front of it. Normally she would have burst right in, counting on the sound of the heavy door to alert Fae, but the scene they had just had made her reticent. She rapped twice on the door instead and called out, "Fae, are you alright? Do you need help?"
